As an introvert, a solopreneur, and a creative person who puts a lot of thought into how my creations can both serve the world AND bring me income so that I can continue doing the creative work that I love, I’m always on the lookout for resources that help creative introverts thrive on the business side of things. So when I was contacted by Introverts Mean Business to see if I would be interested in trying out their digital subscription box for introverted business women that “helps you stay true to your introversion and build your business at the same time” I jumped at the chance.
Okay, so first a confession. I had no idea that such a thing as “digital subscription boxes” even exist, and I wasn’t sure what I would get with this box or what I was supposed to do with it. But it was pretty easy to figure out. It came directly to my email and contained:
A podcast-style audio file discussing that month’s topic
The box I received was focused on building authentic connection, and I really loved the little podcast. It gave me good information but it was also soothing. The narrator’s voice and the music chosen were both awesome and I could totally picture myself listening to this while soaking in the tub.
Practical tools/resources I could put to use
In my box I received specific exercises to help get me thinking about who my audience is and how I can build immediate and strong connections with them. I appreciated the way this was discussed, because it addressed the fact that I HAVE to be authentic in my business and creative work or it just won’t work for me.
A monthly challenge to help explore the topic
I also liked this one, even though I felt a bit nervous because it DID push me out of my comfort zone. However, I’m someone who is very much growth-oriented, so the feeling of stretching my wings a bit and pushing beyond what is familiar is something I am committed to doing, even if it feels uncomfortable.
